Introduction
Welcome to my CyberOne project, A Community Divided: The Sydney McGee Employment Dispute. This project examines the issues surrounding the controversial firing of an art teacher at a Texas elementary school in a way that balances satire with empathic argument. Specifically, it is an interactive script for a South Park episode dealing with the teacher's firing which, given sufficient time, technical skill, and protection from a copyright infringement suit, could be animated and circulated on YouTube.
This project consists of three parts:
Part One provides a summary of the relevant facts of the dispute.
Part Two offers the reader/participant some background on the project and some guidelines for participation in the script.
Part Three is the script itself, which is presented in a wiki format to enable readers to help shape, write, edit, and comment on the project.
