			In order to address the problem of how to motivate new editors to participate in Wikipedia, we came up with the idea of creating an annual editing campaign. The inspiration for this idea was the recent successful fundraising campaign promoted by Wikipedia. We believe that by concentrating efforts on a limited period of time on getting people to do their first edits we can turn them into more frequent editors. The fundraising campaign has shown that users not only have a desire to support Wikipedia, but also that when a goal and a time frame is established people seem to feel more compelled to help achieve it.

			Goals can be established according to specific needs of the encyclopedia during each year and various metrics can be adopted to assess them. In addition to this, it would be helpful to suggest specific tasks for newcomers. This would make it possible to direct efforts towards weak areas of Wikipedia instead of having new editors wasting time on well developed articles.

			6) Journalism Schools are going through a major transformation as their profession is currently being brought into question itself. For example, Columbia School of Journalism recently invested in the Tow Center to focus on Digital Journalism. That stated, in addition to Frannie's point about incorporating your platform into a school requirement - I wonder what about approaching Journalism schools.
