Abstract
This study intends to document the history of technology licensing strategies around the PCR technology and other technologies that represented breakthrough in the BGP field. We argue that in the early days of Biotechnology, practices of non-exclusive licensing were essential to the development of the field. The license practices around the PCR technology are a proof of this argument. This paper will also touch the license practices around other Biotechnology breakthrough technologies, such as the ones mention din the table bellow.
