The editorial declares:

  • that genetic counselors are essential when interpreting complex genetic health information, such as the results of DTC genomic tests.
  • Lab test results should only be generated using FDA approved / cleared tests or
  • developed and validated appropriately as a Laboratory Developed Test ("homebrew"?) performed in a CLIA lab.
