Welcome!

Hello, ICP team!

This is our space!

Here the tasks will be assigned and we will draw our research methodology.

The RAs will be divided into vertical areas of research, but we will also have activities that all of us are more or less responsible for. This asks from all of us to spend some time together doing brainstorm. So, it is important that you share with the other team members the time you are available.

I also want that all of you (RAs) to insert in your personal page the week-tasks I assigned and the results achieved in the deadlines. You can insert links for the results and please, be sure to keep our wiki with a well organized internal structure. We will soon have a "wiki site map" so do not forget to make it current any time you create a new page.

I hope we can have a complete team meeting every week in the beginning, and every 15 days when the research achieve a reasonable pace and the activities are more clear to each of us.

Below you can find the macro-division of responsibilities. However, you should take a look on the work the rest of the team is developing, so we can keep the same pace. We also should be able to interchange interesting material each of us find. There will be an specific item for "resources" in our Wiki.

So, be sure to check this space weekly!

I will also buzz you constantly by e-mails.

A brief trial description.

The project is a mapping exercise, where we are trying to capture the evolving constituencies strategies in a certain field/market towards closeness or openness and how they impact in innovation. We are also looking at the motivations and driving forces around this (is a demand pressure, change in government regulation, competition, new business models, etc?) Our first 3 main fields of focus are alternative energy - solar, tide and wind, educational materials and biotechnology - genomics and proteomics. The project started in the end of December, and we are in a phase of drawing the picture of each field and mapping some paradigmatic cases into a quadrant device that deals with questions of open/close in terms of participation, and regulation/unregulation in terms of IP, contracts or norms
