I am characterizing the R&D process that brings diagnostic kits to market with a particular focus on which steps involve patent (or other IP) activity.

I keep notes real-time in Evernote and then transfer them to the wiki. You can view my ICP evernote collection here

current goals

  • touch base on Monday w/ Carol
  • work on skeleton of paper, meet to lay it out next Thursday (sept 3) morning
  • re-read biotech section in april ICP report; discuss w/ Carol

Andrew there Thurs & Fri: Just enumerating the patents that might pertain to diagnostics is hard:

  • multiple databases
  • classification scheme for scope of protection
  • Carol: "we know duke team behind oft-used duke patent database; we can get in touch with them"
