Dear friends,
Sarah Guerrero, the Legal Director of Open Economies, and I will be in Ghana
starting Thursday night, March 7, and will be there through Friday night,
March 15th. We will be conversing with ICT entrepreneurs and government
ministers, for the most part under the auspices of Open Economies, Berkman
Center for Internet and Society, Harvard Law School, and in part as a member
of a group with the Center for International Development at Harvard, led by
Magda Ismail of the CID and also including Mike Best of the MIT Media Lab.
If you have interesting people or ideas for us to check out, let us know!
Also on the trip is Christopher Lydon, a well-known American radio talk show
host who's long-running Public Broadcasting Service program, The Connection,
had a major US audience, won many awards, and stimulated some wonderful
conversations. Chris is now a fellow with us at the Berkman Center for
Internet and Society. He will be pioneering "Bird" Berkman Internet Radio
Dialogues--conversations that matter, and that cross traditional lines, and
that bring to the table new voices--a live radio program that is
simultaneously broadcast over radio spectrum and the Internet. We hope to
have some wonderful conversations, and for those of you around the world,
tune in by visiting our site, www.cyber.law.harvard.edu next week. I will
send a more precise URL to the Open Economies list, as well.
Open Economies will be based at the ever-evolving BusyInternet Technology
Center in Accra, whose warm, wonderful people are graciously providing
support for our visit. Check them out at www.BusyInternet.com. We would
also like to thank the equally warm, wonderful people at AQSolutions,
located both in Ghana and in New Haven, Connecticut, USA offices, for their
help in organizing the trip. AQSolutions provides "six sigma quality"
software development services at www.AQSolutions.com
