RE: [dvd-discuss] Illegal tactics funded by Anti-piracy advocates

Has there ever been a case where copyright has been revoked for abuse of copyright? What actions would invoke such a punishment and is it realistic to even think that it would be used? In the case of the RIAA or MPAA, they don't hold the copyright - who would you revoke it from? Are they considered agents and, therefore, capable of invoking the loss of copyright if they take abusive actions on behalf of the copyright owner? If they have standing to ask that works be taken down or to otherwise act (legally or illegally), it would appear that abuse of copyright should be applicable.
