The transcripts are normally available 5 business days days after oral 
arguments ($2.85 per page/average length is 55 pages). 
(www.aldersonreporting.com). Permission to republish must be obtained 
in writing from the company, Permission to republish small excerpts 
(<20 lines) is routinely granted.

10-15 days afterwards, transcripts are published on the Supreme Court 
website.

The Supreme Court Library obtains copies about a week earlier (7-10 
days after transcripts are completed), but no photocopies are allowed 
until the beginning of the next term.


Tapes of Oral arguments are available at the beginning of the next 
term. (National Archives).

Moral: the penniless, lexisless masses will not be able to read the 
transcripts for 2-3 more weeks, unless a party (EFF, say) somehow 
obtains permission to post.
