there have been several discussions on various lists about what a truly
evil windos worm would be capable of. you don't want to see one. for
starters, it could download site-specific commands from anonymous
websites (geocities or such). one interesting application would be to
modify the news on major news sites. anyone got an idea of how much
damage a fake "(randomly choose fortune 500 company) announces record
losses - CEO fired, large layoffs coming soon" article could do? timed
right with a DOS on the same companies website so its unreachable. add
half a dozen similiar misinformation attacks and you have a nation-wide
panic.
