Actually, if the $999 version was a nonencrypted version of an encrypted
version... and the $999 version was created prior to the encryption of
$9.99 version or aside from the encrypted version, it would be a 'method'
of circumvention, not a device of circumvention..right? The $999 item
wouldn't need to be a TOOL... just the article prior or aside to the $9.99
item.

It could not work. The $999 edition would be a
circumvention device, whose primary purpose is
to bypass the TPM on the $9.99 edition.
