a closer look at the Second Circuit decision...

I still can't imagine how links themselves cause any action at all. It's the
browser that causes the GET. Would it help to note that, say, 
"wget --spider" treats links differently?

Perhaps Microsoft and AOL need to disable automatic links at the browser. The
user would have to type GET this page and GET that jpeg.
