Sure. Rentals degrade the price of purchasing new products... And a used
market is worse. After all, everytime someone buys a used washing machine,
the manufacturer hasn't sold a new one. Thus, a manufacturer has to
compete with their own used products and has to price given that. Thus,
every manufacturer wishes that selling 'used' products was illegal.
Somehow, the copyright industry managed to get this codified into law.
Why isn't there, say, timeshare or rental software.. Buy a copy of
photoshop for $350, and get the use of it one day a week for only $50. :)
