I think it was John von Neumann who came up with the idea that the program
would be resident in memory just as the data would be.....considering his
views on "social irresponsibility" he must be laughing in his grave about
the whole debate going on now on digital rights management, intellectual
property, the internet, and the humble personal computer that sits before
you.
