As Senior Director of Research at Caribou Digital, I am a researcher, author, and consultant focused on advancing digital inclusion in the developing world.
My projects often combine (quantitative) market and business models research with (qualitative) applied ethnographic methods. I like to hang out with the ICTD/ICT4D “Information Technology for Development“.community, and with folks who study mobile phones.
Previously, I was a researcher in the Technology for Emerging Markets Group at Microsoft Research in Bangalore, India, a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Earth Institute at Columbia University, and a consultant with the Monitor Group and its spin-off, the OTF Group.
I have a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Communication Theory and Research.
