BadwareBusters.org now in beta

Fight back against viruses, spyware, and other badware!

StopBadware.org has teamed up with the good people of Consumer Reports WebWatch to create BadwareBusters.org, a new online community for people looking for help removing viruses, spyware, and other bad and malicious software from their computers.

Until now, there hasn’t been a central place where people with no prior knowledge about “badware” and its effects could go to ask questions and get answers and assistance. BadwareBusters.org aims to fill that need by tapping collective wisdom on the Net to build a dedicated community of participants.

The site uses an algorithm-based reputation and rating system to help people identify the most useful content and most helpful users. The idea is for BadwareBusters.org to be easy for novices and experts alike, with a community made up of everyone from computer newbies to active techies.

Hopefully all members of the community will contribute to ongoing dialogue about badware: how to define it, which applications and trends to watch, and how to protect against it.

BadwareBusters.org is now in an open public beta. Sign on! The community’s success depends on your involvement, whether that means helping others or getting help yourself.
