Edge Case Studies

An edge case study is a five-minute synopsis of some interesting real-world case where people took seriously the true potential of the Net in a particular area and worked to realize that potential, right up to the edge between what's possible today and what must wait on future developments (hence the term). Edge cases should spark discussions around them and should help us better understand the Net. An edge case might discuss some application of the Net that isn't commonly considered, support or refute commonly held wisdom, illuminate some dark pit of interwebness or just explain how some Net phenomenon really happened.
