Combine Palladium with XP/Office XP activation and Microsoft's extortion
letter (see below), currently being faxed and mailed to thousands of small
businesses around the world this month, and the inmates could be ready to wail...

Dear [small business owner],

If you own any Microsoft products, then I strongly recommend that you take a
few minutes to read this letter.

Microsoft has announced that after July 31, 2002, the new volume licensing
program for their software will be implemented. The new licensing program will
require that ONLY subscribers to the upgrade and software assurance plans
will be eligible to obtain rights to future versions of products; at the upgrade cost.
However, before that change, many customers may find that a cost-effective way
to obtain rights to future versions of Microsoft software is to purchase an Upgrade
Advantage or Software Assurance plan from Microsoft before July 31, 2002.

If you intend to upgrade any Microsoft Desktop or Server software that you are
currently licensed to run to any new version durlng the next three and a half years,
you could save by purchasing the Upgrade Advantage plan now, then, you can
purchase and Implement the upgrade of the new products that are released on
your own schedule later on.

You could save from 27% up to 57% on various Microsoft Products by purchasing
the Upgrade Advantage or Software Assurance for your current products.

If you need more information about the new Microsoft licensing plans, please, check
the followinq URL http://www.mlcrosoft.com/Ilicensing/programs/sa/sadefined.asp

Please note that many legacy products such as Windows 95, Windows 98 and
Windows NT.4.0 are not sold anymore and may soon not be supported, so there is
no better time (Before July 31 2002) to consider purchasing the Upgrade Advantage
Plan. It could save your company thousands of dollars.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me.
