Since you equate "destructive" with not getting things you have no reasonable
claim to, then "destructive" is a good thing.

Your positions are characterized by perpetual outrage that people exercise
their will in ways you find distasteful. Elitism is the world view that holds
that everybody else is an idiot who must be guided to act in the "public
interest". An elitist believes that the fact that the individuals who comprise
the public are actually interested in their own rational self interest is
simply an inconvenient misunderstanding on their part as to what the correct
"public interest" is.

You have discovered the emperical fact that a robust economy pretty much IS the
#1 public interest. "The best social program is a job".

I am under no such delusion. It works like this: you decide what you
want/value, you examine what vendors are in the market, you negotiate for the
best terms you can achieve, you do a make vs. buy vs "go without" decision.

If at the end of this process, you have to choose "go without" then don't come
whining about how greedy everybody else is, because you're the one asking for
something you haven't earned.
